Educational Visits/Displays

"Lulu" Bengal Eagle Owl at The James Hopkins Trust

Preservation through education

We firmly believe that the way to protect and conserve for the future is through education. Therefore, we are happy to visit schools, clubs etc with a selection of our birds of prey and owls.

We can adjust our talk and demonstration to cover the topics required through all key stages, and all age ranges from reception upwards. We will also provide the groups with the opportunity to get close to a selection of our owls, hawks and falcons. We also, conditions allowing, fly the birds.

We encourage the groups to have questions ready to ask us - you'd be amazed how detailed these can be!

Clare and her fantastic helpers have spent many hours talking to interested groups of all ages.
References are available on request or please visit our testimonial page.

What our Guests have to say about us:

Very impressed with the professional setup and the knowledge of both Clare and Phil. I would highly recommend them for all your bird related needs. Walks with Hawks is a bench mark in the business.

Clare, thank you so much for making our last day in England one of the most memorable. The "hawk walk" was truely a special personal experience very unlike the common "canned" raptor exhibit. Where else can one stare a giant eagle in the eye from 6" away while he rests on your arm or marvel at the flare of a hawk's wings as he prepares to land on your glove. We shall be your informal "agents" and vigorously promote this experience to all our California friends. Mike & Kathleen Post, Los Angeles, California.

Just completed the Hawk Walk with Clare and some wonderful birds of prey (Harris Hawk, young Kestrel and Golden Eagle cross-bread - wow). Had a fabulous time - Clare is so knowledgeable and did all she could to make sure we got a great experience despite the weather being so hot as to make it hard for the hawk, in particular. When the hawk chased a pigeon and was mobbed by a pair of buzzards, the whole event really came even more alive. Truly fascinating to see these beautiful creatures up close.
Thoroughly recommended.

Walks With Hawks came to Bassett House Nursing Home with some of their birds and we cannot speak highly enough about the experience. The residents were totally spellbound, with one resident commenting that this was the first time she had felt happy since the sadness of losing her husband. A truly wonderful experience. We will be booking your brilliant team again soon.

Thank you for a wonderful morning. In addition to seeing these beautiful birds flying free, we learnt so much about these amazing wild animals. It was so much more than simply flying hawks; as the'camera man' I learnt so much and felt fully involved in the experience although I did not fly the birds myself. Clare's love for and respect of these birds was palpable and it was a wonderful Christmas present for my dad. I will certainly come back to re-experience being with these birds. Thank you!

I attended a Hawk Walk on Saturday 1st September 2012 and was lucky to have a beautiful day. We walked with Ed the Harris hawk who was very obliging and full of character. We had lots exposure to Ed throughout the walk. After the walk, we were introduced to Fidich, the Eagle and little Archie. I had a wonderful, educational day and felt privileged to be in the company of such majestic birds. Clare and Phil were both knowledgeable and entertaining - brilliant leaders of the walk. I would recommend this experience to anyone - a MUST do.

A mesmerising experience both exciting and educational, led by two Hawk experts whose knowledge and enthusiasm was inspiring. Free flying a hawk whose instincts remain untrained is an experience which should not be missed.....by any age group.

Thank you so much for such a brilliant Owl Encounter. This is such a truely amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone with a love of birds as yours are like no others, all with their own funny personalities. Walks With Hawks out does any other Falconry experience by far, the personal and friendly touch, the amount of information you give about the birds and the amount of handling time and contact you get with each of the birds! Brilliant! We travelled from Brighton to Cheltenham for the owls and would do it time and time again. I can't describe how much I enjoyed it. Hopefully will see you again soon. Thank you a fantastic day today. I was a spectator for my brother in law and we both had an amazing day and some superb photos. We will definately be recommending you to friends, and hopefully be back again ourselves.
